All candles are hand-poured in South Moravia. The entire process is beautiful from pouring the candle to the final packaging. Minor imperfections, such as bubbles or color variations, may be created due to the handmade nature of the product. 

Candle composition:

• soy wax 
• coconut wax
• cotton wick
• candle dye
• fragrance composition from natural essential oils with IFRA certification 
• candle holder made from recycled wine bottle 

We offer glass candles in two variants:

• smooth candles without significant surface decoration,
• candles with prominent surface decoration.

The behavior of each variant during burning may differ slightly, which is important to keep in mind when using the candle.

First burn & wick care

⚠️ The first burn is crucial for proper candle performance.

The wick must be trimmed to 3–5 mm before each use (including the first burn).

A properly trimmed wick:

• ensures a calm and stable flame,
• extends the candle’s lifespan,
• reduces the risk of smoking and overheating the glass.

A wick that is too long may cause:

• black smoke,
• an excessively large flame,
• excessive wax melting and overheating of the container.

If the wick starts to drown in wax, it has been trimmed too short. In that case, carefully remove some wax around the wick using a suitable tool. The candle must not be lit or hot during this process.

Burn time & wax behavior

During the first burn, allow the candle to melt evenly across the surface as much as possible.

• Candles without top decoration
  Let the wax melt almost to the edges of the container.
  ⏱️ Recommended maximum burn time is 3–4 hours.
• Candles with top decoration
  Allow the candle to melt towards the edges as much as possible, but no longer than 4 hours.
  This type of candle may create tunneling, which is a natural effect caused by the top decoration and safety reasons — preventing overheating of the glass. Unmelted wax near the edges may be up to 0.5 cm.
• With this type of candle, it is often necessary to trim the wick already within the first minutes of burning. This is due to decorative wax elements burning faster than the rest of the candle. You will notice the need to trim if black smoke appears or the flame becomes too large. In that case, trim the wick and relight the candle.

Safety instructions

⚠️ Never let the candle burn all the way down.

We recommend extinguishing the candle when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom.

A burning wick without sufficient wax can cause the glass to overheat and crack. This type of damage cannot be claimed as a defect, as it results from improper use.

Remaining wax can be safely melted and used in an aroma lamp.

Natural properties of wax

Does your candle have:

• an uneven surface,
• wax pulling away from the container walls,
• or a “wet spots” / sweating appearance?

These are completely natural characteristics of natural waxes without additives. These effects indicate a clean composition and do not affect the quality, scent, or performance of the candle. They are not considered defects.

Second life of the glass

After the candle has burned out, the glass container can be reused. Simply clean it with warm water and remove any remaining wax and wick. You can then reuse it as:

• a drinking glass,
• a candle holder,
• or a small plant pot.

Information for Consumers

All our scented candles carry labeling according to CLP legislation. The safety data sheet is available upon request.

Every consumer must adhere to the safety recommendations stated on the candle packaging and here on our website.

During transportation, it may happen that the label with safety information detaches from the bottom of the candle. Please read these safety instructions carefully as well.

ČSN EN 15494 (650121) specifies the safety labeling of candles intended for burning in rooms.

All candles from Louky Studio are intended for adults of legal age. Louky Studio is not responsible for the misuse of products, and all products are used at your own risk. Some scented and essential oils are not suitable for pregnant and nursing women, small children, and animals.

All scented and essential oils have been made from quality raw materials, have not been tested on animals, and do not contain parabens or phthalates. The essential oils used in the candles and other products have all the important safety data sheets – IFRA, SDS, and comply with all EU regulations.

Candles and other products are PROHIBITED FOR INTERNAL USE and are not intended for CONSUMPTION!

Candles have a minimum shelf life of 2 years. Please keep in mind that during storage, the fragrance develops gradually.

Candles and other products are not certified as cosmetic products according to current EU legislation.

The candles use premium soy / beeswax. The waxes do not contain pesticides, herbicides, or petroleum additives.
