All candles are hand-poured in South Moravia. The entire process is beautiful from pouring the candle to the final packaging. The candles are made from soy wax, which contains no toxic materials. Minor imperfections, such as bubbles or color variations, may be created due to the handmade nature of the product.
Candle composition:
- soy wax
- wooden flat wick
- fragrance composition from natural essential oils with IFRA certification
- candle holder made from Jesmonite material
The wax holder is made from Jesmonite, also known as eco-resin. Jesmonite is a two-component casting material consisting of a water-based acrylic liquid and a mineral base. It contains no solvents and VOCs based on acrylic, making it environmentally friendly.
Due to the nature of the Jesmonite material, small air bubbles and surface irregularities may occur during the manufacturing process. All these minor imperfections add authenticity and originality to our handmade products. Please take this information into account before purchasing (each piece may slightly differ from the illustrative photograph). Once the candle has served its purpose, we recommend removing the remnants of the wooden wick from the holder and washing it under warm water. You can further use the holder, for example, as a small flower pot or a container for pencils.
The candles are poured into handmade containers made from eco-friendly Jesmonite, which are created directly in our studio. In our collection, you will find candles:
- with or without top decoration,
- with cotton wicks or wooden wicks.
The behavior of the candle and the required care may vary slightly depending on the specific variant, so it is important to pay attention to the following instructions.
First burn
⚠️ The first burn is crucial for proper candle performance.
Allow the candle to burn until almost the entire surface of the wax has melted, but do not overload it with excessively long burning.
⏱️ The maximum recommended burning time is 2 hours.
Burning the candle for too long during the first use may cause:
- overheating of the container,
- uneven wax melting,
- impaired performance during future burns.
Wooden wick care
Wooden wick care differs from cotton wick care.
Before each subsequent lighting, the wooden wick should be trimmed only slightly.
To trim it, simply use your fingertips – grasp the cooled, burned part of the wick and gently break it off.
⚠️ Do not use force.
If too large a portion of the wick is broken off, the candle may no longer be able to be relit. Such damage cannot be accepted as a reason for a complaint.
Important information about wooden wicks
- Lighting a wooden wick may take longer (10–20 seconds)
- The wick often ignites only on the 2nd or 3rd attempt
- We recommend using a lighter; matches are usually not sufficient
If a tunnel forms in the wax, the candle was most likely extinguished too early.
The tunnel can be fixed as follows:
- wrap the candle in aluminum foil,
- leave a small opening at the top for the flame,
- light the candle – the wax will heat up and melt evenly.
