All candles are hand-poured in South Moravia using pure beeswax without any additives such as paraffin, soy, or synthetic fragrance. Thanks to the natural density and quality of beeswax, the candle burns slower and lasts longer than conventional candles. By choosing beeswax, you support Czech beekeepers and sustainable craftsmanship.
Sometimes you may notice a white film on the surface of the candle — this is called “bloom,” a natural sign of authentic beeswax. It can be easily removed by gently warming or polishing the candle with a soft cloth.
Composition:
- 100% pure beeswax
- Cotton wick
This type of candle is intended exclusively for use in candle holders. These are primarily tall candles, handmade from beeswax. This composition gives the candle a natural appearance but also affects its behavior while burning.
Always place the candle in a stable holder designed for the specific type and diameter of the candle. If the holder has a spike and the candle needs to be pressed onto it, we recommend gently heating the spike with a lighter beforehand. This reduces the risk of cracking or damaging the candle.
⚠️ Any cracking of the candle caused by pressing it onto a spike cannot be accepted as a reason for a complaint.
Wick care
Proper wick care is essential for safe and even burning.
The wick must be trimmed to 3–5 mm before every lighting (before the first use and each subsequent use).
A properly trimmed wick:
- ensures a calm flame of appropriate size,
- extends the candle’s burning time,
- reduces the risk of smoking and excessive wax melting.
An overly long wick may cause:
- a large and unstable flame,
- black smoke,
- rapid melting of the candle and wax dripping down the candle and into the holder.
If the wick begins to “drown” in the wax, it has been trimmed too short. In this case, gently remove some wax around the wick using another object. ⚠️ The candle must not be lit or hot while doing this.
Wax behavior during burning
A natural property of beeswax is that it may soften and flow.
➡️ This means that wax may drip or run while the candle is burning.
➡️ The amount of dripping wax depends on the burning time, wick length, and the type of candle holder used.
For this reason:
- always use the candle only in a suitable holder,
- we recommend placing the holder on a non-flammable and easy-to-clean surface,
- do not leave the candle burning unattended for longer than 1–2 hours and do not move it while it is burning.
