All candles are hand-poured in South Moravia. The entire process is beautiful from pouring the candle to the final packaging. The candles are made from soy wax, which contains no toxic materials. Minor imperfections, such as bubbles or color variations, may be created due to the handmade nature of the product. 

Candle composition:

• 100% soy wax 
• cotton wick
• fragrance composition from fragrance oils with IFRA certification
• candle holder made from Jesmonite 

The wax holder is made from Jesmonite, a so-called eco-resin. Jesmonite is a two-component casting material consisting of a water-based acrylic liquid and a mineral base. It contains no solvents and VOCs based on acrylic, making it environmentally friendly.

Due to the nature of the Jesmonite material, small air bubbles and surface irregularities may occur during the manufacturing process. All these minor imperfections add authenticity and originality to our handmade products. We kindly ask you to take this information into account before purchasing (each piece may slightly differ from the illustrative photograph). Once the candle has served its purpose, we recommend removing the remnants of the wooden wick from the holder and washing it under warm water. You can further use the holder, for example, as a small flower pot or a container for pencils. 

The candles are poured into handmade containers made from eco-friendly Jesmonite, which are produced directly in our studio. In our collection, you will find candles:

• with or without top decoration,
• with cotton wicks or wooden wicks.

The behavior of the candle and the required care may vary slightly depending on the specific variant, so it is important to follow the instructions below.

First burn

⚠️ The first burn is crucial for proper candle performance.

Allow the candle to burn until almost the entire surface of the wax has melted, but do not overload it with excessively long burning.

⏱️ The maximum recommended burning time is 2 hours.

Burning the candle for too long during the first use may cause:

• overheating of the container,
• uneven wax melting,
• impaired performance during future burns.

Cotton wick care

Before every lighting (both the first and each subsequent use), the wick must be trimmed to a length of 3–5 mm.

A properly trimmed wick:

• ensures a calm and stable flame,
• extends the candle’s lifespan,
• reduces the risk of smoking and overheating of the container.

An overly long wick may cause:

• black smoke,
• an excessively large flame,
• excessive wax melting.

If the wick begins to drown in the wax, it has been trimmed too short. In this case, carefully remove some wax around the wick using another object. ⚠️ The candle must not be lit or hot while doing this.

Be careful when trimming the wick – loose soot may fall into the wax and cause it to darken. This effect is caused by improper handling and cannot be considered a manufacturing defect.

Candles with top decoration

With candles that feature top decoration, please note that:

• the wax may not melt all the way to the edge of the container,
• wax discoloration may occur due to the pigments and decorative elements used.

These are natural characteristics of decorated candles and are not manufacturing defects. These effects do not impact the candle’s functionality or safety.

Information for Consumers

All our scented candles carry labeling according to CLP legislation. The safety data sheet is available upon request.

Every consumer must adhere to the safety recommendations stated on the candle packaging and here on our website.

During transportation, it may happen that the label with safety information detaches from the bottom of the candle. Please read these safety instructions carefully as well.

ČSN EN 15494 (650121) specifies the safety labeling of candles intended for burning in rooms.

Mandatory Safety Information

All candles from Louky Studio are intended for adults of legal age. Louky Studio is not responsible for the misuse of products, and all products are used at your own risk. Some scented and essential oils are not suitable for pregnant and nursing women, small children, and animals.

All scented and essential oils have been made from quality raw materials, have not been tested on animals, and do not contain parabens or phthalates. The essential oils used in the candles and other products have all the important safety data sheets – IFRA, SDS, and comply with all EU regulations.

Candles and other products are PROHIBITED FOR INTERNAL USE and are not intended for CONSUMPTION!

Candles have a minimum shelf life of 2 years. Please keep in mind that during storage, the fragrance develops gradually.

Candles and other products are not certified as cosmetic products according to current EU legislation.

The candles use premium soy / beeswax. The waxes do not contain pesticides, herbicides, or petroleum additives.
